At first glance, we didnt think much of Yellow Bird Cafe because of its unassuming homey atmosphere. But once we had the food, we were in love. The BEST tamales EVER. The pancakes are so fluffy and flavorful. The cafe is run by a lovely Hispanic family and the wait staff is very efficient and sweet. The menu is a mix of American diner standards and Mexican traditional cuisine. Great food and a great price. The locals obviously love the cafe and it will be our new family favorite whenever we come to Hammond. ”
